MHSCC’s programs are
designed to be implemented intensively so that the student acquires
skills and behaviors necessary for mainstreaming rapidly, fluently
and functionally and returns to the least restrictive setting possible.
MHSCC uses a comprehensive, strengths-based behavioral analysis philosophy
that is defined by using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
and Skinner’s Analysis of Verbal Behavior to allow for the academic
achievement and social stability of our students in the following ways:
• Providing research-based individualized educational services
that will ensure the most productive learning outcome for each child
under our care; •
Encouraging full collaboration of the resources of MHSCC, the referring
LEA and the student’s family; •
Ensuring an appropriate transition back to the referring LEA, wherein
no gains are lost and the student continues to make progress; •
Training the adoptive direct care staff of the referring LEA in techniques
of the ABA/VB approach; •
Conducting ABA/VB training events to benefit local area school districts,
parents, and other interested parties; •
Ensuring the student’s parents are fully trained in both theory
and technical aspects of ABA and VB so that the student will make
significant gains across each environment he
or she encounters. This item is made in special consideration of
the abilities of the student
as he or she approaches high school graduation and beyond.
Manor House School of Cape Cod stresses the importance of all students
making effective progress in their own neighborhood schools. Let
us help make that happen for children with Autism!
